Safety: Organizations

Organizations

To ensure a smooth and pleasant learning journey for your staff/volunteers and Technovation’s participants, we ask that you follow our Code of Conduct when interacting with children, our staff, other parents, and volunteers during your time with Technovation. In addition:

  1. Each organization participating in Technovation must have an incident reporting system in place for any student and volunteer participating in their Chapter.
  2. During the chapter onboarding process, organizations need to share their child safeguarding policy and process on the Technovation platform. This is a mandatory step to validate participation as a Chapter.
  3. Each organization is responsible for ensuring that its staff and volunteers adhere to the rules outlined in the Chapter Affiliation Agreement and the Code of Conduct.
  4. All communication between Technovation Girls Chapters and students must include the student’s parent/guardian.
  5. Adopt a zero-tolerance policy around harassment or bullying. This includes parents’ treatment of each other, participants, parents/guardians, Technovation staff; and participants' treatment of each other, volunteers, and parents/guardians.
  6. Chapters must take every precaution to ensure the safety of children in any travel or participation by communicating directly with Mentors and parents/guardians about the date, time, venue, and attendance of Technovation Girls activities.
  7. Encourage Mentors to get parental consent to communicate with girls outside of scheduled program meetings.
  8. Maintain what is, in the judgment of Technovation Girls, a courteous tone in all forms of communication, both written and verbal, with all stakeholders including Technovation staff.
  9. Organization staff and volunteers expected to be professional and respectful in all interactions with other volunteers, students, parents, and Technovation staff.
  10. Any conflict or disagreements between parents, volunteers, and/or Technovation staff should be handled with patience, humility, honesty, and curiosity to understand one another.

Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct could lead to formal warnings from Technovation and could result in the termination of the Chapter Affiliation Agreement (signed by the organization at the beginning of the season) and the partnership between said organization and Technovation.
