About the Technovation Girls Competition

The Technovation Girls program includes a global competition element. It is not necessary to submit to the competition to use the curriculum, but most of our participants do.

This page collects information about the rules, requirements, and structure of the competition.

Competition Timeline

  • The Technovation Girls Season officially begins in October.
  • Students and Mentors may register between October 11, 2024 and March 17, 2025.
  • Student teams work on their projects from when they sign up until the submission deadline.
  • All teams must submit by May 5, 2025 to be eligible to complete.
  • After teams submit, judging begins. Judging typically runs from May through July. There are 3 rounds of judging:
    1. Quarterfinals: All teams who submit are quarterfinalists. Judges select which teams will move on to the Semifinal round of judging
      • Semifinalists are announced via email.
    2. Semifinals: Judges select 15 teams (5 per division) who are Regional Winners, and 15 teams who advance to the Finals. (Regional Winners do not advance any further.)
      • Finalists and Regional Winners are announced at the Global Celebration Event, a virtual event open to all participants and volunteers.
    3. Finals: The Final round of judging takes place in-person at the Technovation World Summit in October 2025. In previous years, Finalist Teams were flown to the United States for field trips and events including the Pitch Night and Award Ceremony, during which final prizes were awarded. The exact details of the 2025 World Summit will be finalized and shared soon.
