Mentor Curriculum: Unit 11 (Junior)

Meeting Agenda Templates

Use these pre-made sample agendas to run your sessions with your students. These templates were developed to reflect the experience and division of student teams. Mentors are encouraged to adjust the agendas to meet the needs of your team. The agenda is designed to accommodate different meeting formats.

Choose the option that best fits your team.

BUILD YOUR AGENDA

Select one of the agenda templates and fill it in with the week’s activities to organize what your team will cover in your meeting for the week.

Any remaining activities should be completed by the team outside of the meeting or in future meetings.

OUTLINE OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE UNIT

Unit 11 has 2 activities, not all of them need to be done in your session together. Choose what you would like to accomplish together in a 1 -2 hour meeting. The team can work on the remaining activities separately. To learn how these activities help your team, review the Goals of the Activities.

Activity

💡Learning Journey: Reflect together on their journey. This can be written separately and then combine thoughts or jot down ideas together as a team.

Check-in: You are very close to submission time! It is critical to check in with the team to ensure they have most (if not all) of the parts of the submission ready to submit.  Make a plan with team members to wrap up incomplete parts so they are ready to submit by the deadline.

Goals of the activities:

💡(Ideation) Learning Journey (20 min)

In this activity students will:

  • Write their Learning Journey, a required part of the submission. It is a 200 word written piece about what they learned during the Technovation Challenge. They should include:
    • what challenges they overcame
    • what resources they used to build on (ie. credit for resources they used – tutorials, starter code, etc.)
    • they also need to include 2-6 images of their journey in the submission.
  • Brainstorm key points they want to include

Check-in (20 min)

In this activity students will:

  • Review the submission guidelines to ensure they have all the needed parts of their submission
    • If there are parts missing, they will, with the mentor, create an action plan to get those things completed in time
