Video Tutorials to Navigate your Judge Account on the Platform
The following videos will walk you through what is found on your Judge Account (left) and how to input Scores & Feedback (right). Note there may be some minor visual differences as these demos were created in the previous season.
What if Something is Missing from a Team's Submission?
It happens! Sometimes a team uploads an empty file or their video is set to private and cannot be viewed.
If there is a part of their submission missing or a video is not viewable, give scores and feedback on the other parts.
- For the missing part, give the team all 1s in that section of the rubric
- a exception to this is in the Learning Journey. There is a rubric line that asks “Explains what you learned about AI and how you used it in your project”
- if students say they did not use AI, and therefore did not learn about it, please note that is an acceptable answer that can be granted a score of 5
- a exception to this is in the Learning Journey. There is a rubric line that asks “Explains what you learned about AI and how you used it in your project”
- in your written feedback indicate that the piece is missing, AND share 1-2 things you would have liked to see in that part of the submission
If the team is not speaking English in their videos, make sure you turn on the captions (CC) as they may have included captions.
Please note, this season, the Technovation team will not be reaching out to the team to give them an opportunity to resubmit missing content.
Recusals: Can I Skip a Submission?
Only skip a submission if you truly cannot judge it. There are 3 instances where we allow you to skip a submission:
The submission is not in English
- This means there are no parts of the submission submitted in English
- If the videos have English subtitles they can still be judged and given feedback
I know this team or their Mentor
If you worked with or know members of the team or the Mentor that supported them, we ask that you not judge the submission
Content doesn’t belong to the team
If any part of the submission is content from someone else, for example, the pitch video clearly belongs to another organization or individual
Other Reason
This option is only for rare cases. If your reason for skipping the submission is not one of the above 3 listed, it is likely you can judge the submission!
Please note that Judges who misuse the recusal option may be dismissed from the judging process.
