Introduce students to the power of technology and AI as tools for positive change
Through Technovation, young people imagine a better world and design tech solutions to make that vision a reality.
AI Mini Technovation is a great way to do a trial run of the full Technovation program and explore project-based AI curriculum with your students.
About AI Mini Technovation
AI Mini Technovation is a short version of the full Technovation Girls program with a specific focus on teaching students how to apply AI tools to real-world problems.
Students will identify a problem they care about, brainstorm tech solutions, design an AI-powered prototype, and pitch their solutions.
AI Mini Technovation consists of:
- Four 1-hour-long learning sessions
- One rapid design process
- One pitch showcase
You will receive access to lesson plans, activity sheets, and slides to guide you through the entire mini-program.
Get Started with AI Mini Technovation
AI Mini Technovation is entirely free to run. To get started, fill out the short form at the bottom of this page. After you complete the form, you will receive access to the AI Mini Technovation resources you need to run the program.
Why run AI Mini Technovation?
AI Mini Technovation gives students an exciting and empowering introduction to how they can use technology to solve big problems, and specifically focuses on AI tools and concepts. And because it's a short program, it's a low-lift way for program leaders to pilot Technovation and test-run AI curriculum in their classrooms.
We hope this smaller version of the program prepares organizations to eventually offer the full Technovation Girls program to their students and also increases comfort and interest in leveraging the power of artificial intelligence to solve big problems.
Eligibility and Requirements
AI Mini Technovation can be run with all youth ages 8-18.
However, please note that Artificial Intelligence is a more challenging concept, so please use discretion when engaging younger audiences. We recommend this program for ages 13-18.
Technovation's mission is to empower girls to become leaders, technology innovators and real-world problem solvers. While we maintain this focus, AI Mini Technovation is open to youth of all genders. See our Diversity Equity and Inclusion statement.
Devices are required
Students will need access to a device such as a chromebook, laptop, or tablet to participate in the AI activity in session. Students may share devices if necessary.
Timing
AI Mini Technovation can be run any time during the year.
