Module overview
Artificial intelligence is transforming industries, reshaping business models, and creating new opportunities for innovation. These unprecedented impacts are prompting organisations globally to explore how AI can help them solve problems, improve performance, and respond to shifting customer expectations.
In this module, you will explore how AI drives disruption across industries, why certain organisations adapt more successfully than others, and what these shifts mean for the future of work. You will also encounter practical frameworks to help you decode the forces shaping technological change and identify emerging opportunities within your own context.
You will then begin developing your AI Opportunity Proposal by pinpointing a tangible problem and drafting an initial Problem Statement. This statement will serve as the foundation for the proposal you will progressively build throughout the programme.
Learning outcomes
By the end of this module, you should be able to:
- Explain how AI technologies disrupt business models, organisations, and industries.
- Describe how AI transforms innovation and creates new opportunities.
- Apply frameworks, such as the Technology S-Curve, to understand patterns of disruption and change.
- Evaluate some of the implications of AI-driven innovation on the future of work.
- Draft a Problem Statement that identifies a meaningful problem, explains who it affects, and justifies its investigation.
