Student Ambassadors

Be a champion for other girls

Student Ambassadors are “standout” Technovation alumnae who inspire and support girls in their community through the Technovation program.

This exclusive group of 13-20-year-olds encourages peers to pursue STEM by promoting Technovation, recruiting participants, and offering mentorship.

As former participants themselves, they bring a unique perspective and deep connection to the journey, making them influential role models for the next generation of girls in STEM.

In addition to supporting their peers, Student Ambassadors gain valuable skills that set them up for future success. They develop leadership, time management, and communication abilities through exclusive opportunities like expert-led webinars, global networking events, and specialized training. Their work has a far-reaching impact—on themselves, their local communities, and the broader world.

The Technovation Student Ambassador program is selective—there is an application process, and alumnae who are selected to participate must commit to volunteering between 1-2 hours a week between October and May.

Meet last season's Student Ambassadors

My favorite moment this season is the volunteering done at a local community school over multiple weeks, in collaboration with Hispanic foundation of Silicon Valley. One of the most gratifying aspects was celebrating the students' milestones with them, whether it was successfully implementing a new feature, resolving a tricky bug, or presenting their project confidently. Many students started with self-doubt and uncertainty about their capabilities. Through my continuous encouragement, I saw them gain confidence in their skills and ideas. This allowed me to witness firsthand the incredible potential of young minds and the difference that dedicated mentorship can make in their lives.

By day I'm immersing myself in self-care routines and exploring the foundations of philosophies; by night I'm coding solutions to the world's biggest problems. The most significant philosophy to me is that "you get things you don't have, by doing things you aren't doing" - so go build that app 😉

My Student Ambassador experience: What I love most about being a student ambassador is becoming apart of, and increasing the advocacy of Technovation's mission. I was a participant for 2 years and becoming an ambassador showed me the flip-side of the impact every participant creates with their submission to not only Technovation's mission, but the fabrics of our world. Moreover, I wouldn't trade the amazing community of my fellow ambassadors for anything.

My Student Ambassador experience: I was able to connect with teams outside of my area this past season as a student ambassador, and I handled every team really well. Even though I was preoccupied with schoolwork, I was able to assist the girls in gaining all the skills that the Technovation curriculum offered, and I'm happy of the significant impact I had on the girls and even their mentors. Being a mentor for most teams also taught me how to multitask better, and I also learned to be patient with people who were unfamiliar with the competition.
