Student Club Leaders

Student Club Leaders

A Technovation Student Club is a group of students, aged 13-18, who meet regularly to learn, share ideas, and work on Technovation projects. It’s just like other after-school clubs, but focused on completing the Technovation curriculum.

Student Clubs may NOT have any members under the age of 13, for safety and legal reasons.

What is a Student Club Leader?

A Student Club Leader is a girl or young woman, aged 13-18, who starts and leads a Technovation club at their school. This is similar to other after-school clubs (like art or dance clubs) but focuses on Technovation.

As a Student Club Leader, you'll be in charge of:

  • Getting permission from your school to start a Technovation club
  • Recruiting students to join
  • Setting up meetings when needed
  • Guiding others through the program. You’ll help them learn, create solutions, and submit their projects.

This is a highly independent role with limited support from Technovation Headquarters and a wonderful opportunity for driven students!

You are encouraged to seek help from your classmates, friends, or trusted adults such as parents or teachers.

As a reminder: Due to safety concerns, you can only engage with Mentors from the Technovation platform or trusted adults such as parents or teachers.

Do Student Club Leaders get a Technovation-provided mentor like the regular program?

You CAN use the platform to search for and connect with mentors. Due to safety concerns, you can only engage with Mentors from the Technovation platform or trusted adults such as parents or teachers.

Do Student Club Leaders work with a teacher or someone at their school?

Yes, it’s a good idea to ask a teacher, parent, or administrator to support you and your club, especially when you need permission to run after-school meetings or guidance on organizing events.

Who is eligible to apply to be a Student Club Leader?

To apply as a Student Club Leader, you must be between the ages of 13 and 18 as of September 1, 2024. If you’re 18, you must be currently attending secondary school/high school NOT university/postsecondary.
