The Technovation Platform
The Technovation platform, or “the platform”, is where volunteers and students:
- Register and Complete Onboarding
- Connect with a Club or Chapter
- Create a Team
- Submit a Project
Club Ambassadors support their Club participants in completing registration, onboarding, and team formation in accordance with program deadlines.
Club Ambassador Profile
The Club Ambassador profile on the platform allows Club Ambassadors to view and manage their Club participants, teams, and submissions. This short video tutorial is a great starting point, and the tips below will help you manage key aspects of your Club setup:
Help Support Student Registration
Platform registration is the first step in student participantion. Below are two steps in registration that students may need support with:
If a student or family has not had experience with technology, you may need to help them create an email account so that they can register.
Parental consent is automatically sent to the parent email when a student registers on the platform.
Parents/guardians will receive an email to provide program permission and media consent online.
Alternative: If a parent/guardian does not have an email address or prefers a paper form, students can also upload a picture of a signed paper consent form to their account.
Forming Teams on the Platform
Creating a Team:
- Students and Mentors can create a team from their dashboard. They can also search for existing teams to join on the platform.
Adding Participants to a Team:
- Mentors and students can only be added to teams once they have completed onboarding.
- Mentors can search for a team and request to be added.
- Students can invite other students and Mentors to their team.
- Club Ambassadors can add Mentors and students they are working with to existing teams in their Club from their Club Ambassador dashboard.
Removing Participants from a Team:
- Club Ambassadors should always confirm with a participant that they want to be removed from a team before doing so.
- Existing team members can log on to their dashboards and delete themselves from the team.
Platform Tips
Connecting participants to your Club on the platform:
- Participants and Club accounts are only connected if…
- Club Ambassador onboarding and the Cub profile are complete
- The student has selected the Club on the platform
Note: If you can’t find a student, check the “unaffiliated” pool on your dashboard
Connect Your Participants to Your Club
Participant and Club accounts can only be connected on the platform if:
- Club Ambassador onboarding and the Cub profile are complete
- The student or Mentor has selected the Club on the platform. They will be prompted to select an Ambassador when they register.
Note: If you can’t find a student or Mentor, check the “unaffiliated” pool on your dashboard. You can add a participant to your Club from this page if you are already working with them.
