Help a team of girls troubleshoot a problem

Coaches provide feedback and guidance to teams in a 1-hour session.

Coaches are an important resource for students. As topic specialists, Coaches are able to help teams with questions that they're getting stuck on and help them keep moving.

Teams will come prepared with the question(s) they have and provide the context of their project in advance. To make sure questions can be answered in the hour, conversations will be focused in one area of the program:

  • Ideation/Brainstorming
  • Coding:
    • MIT App Inventor
    • Thunkable
    • Scratch
    • Python
  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Business Pitch writing
  • Video Recording

When you apply, you can indicate which areas you are comfortable discussing.

Coaches determine when they want to be available to book time with teams. We ask that coaches complete at least 5 sessions for the season.

TIME COMMITMENT:  3 - 11 hours total

on your schedule

1-hour onboarding (October - January)
+ 1 hour per coaching session (January - April)

What's the difference between a Mentor and a Coach?

A Mentor works with a team for the entire season as a project manager, while a Coach supports a team with specific questions in a single session as a topic specialist.

Onboard onto our calendar management system, complete profile, connect your calendar(s) and update availability

Get Booked

Teams book time with you, based on your expertise and availability

Prepare

Prepare for the session by reviewing the team’s questions and putting together some initial thoughts (we provide a template for this)

Coaches come from a range of professional backgrounds. Coaches are employees of Technovation's partners and supporters! Last season, coaches in 7 countries joined us from Shopify, FactSet, and Salesforce.
