Safety: Parents

Parents & Guardians

Your child’s safety is very important to us! Together, Technovation and the parents and guardians of our participants can create a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow.

How does Technovation support a safe environment?

  • Each participant must have a parent or guardian sign a consent form in order to participate in Technovation Girls. This consent form links to the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use that outline how we work with participants as well as your rights and responsibilities.
  • Technovation requests that all participants review our media consent policy here and submit the form to confirm whether or not you consent to use of the participant’s image.

To ensure a smooth and pleasant learning journey for you and your child, we ask that you follow our Code of Conduct including the following guidelines when interacting with our staff, other parents, and volunteers during your time with Technovation.

  1. Adopt a zero-tolerance policy around harassment or bullying. This includes parents’ treatment of participants, other parents/guardians, and Technovation staff and volunteers as well as participants' treatment of each other, volunteers including mentors and judges, and parents/guardians.
  2. Maintain what is, in the judgment of Technovation Girls, a courteous tone in all forms of communication, both written and verbal, with all stakeholders including Technovation staff.
  3. Parents are expected to be professional and respectful in all interactions with volunteers, students, other parents, and Technovation staff.
  4. Any conflict or disagreements between parents, volunteers, and/or Technovation staff should be handled with patience, humility, honesty, and curiosity to understand one another.

Failure to abide by the Code of Conduct could lead to formal warnings from Technovation. Depending on the severity or frequency of the infractions, parents/guardians and their child(ren) may be prohibited from participating in the Technovation program for the remainder of the season and future seasons.
